Admission requirements MBA Human Resources Management
The course of study requires basic knowledge of business administration. If this is not the case, we offer propaedeutic measures. Please contact us in this case.
Abgeschlossenes Erststudium oder Äquivalent (ohne Erststudium)
For admission to the part-time MBA HR Management you need a certificate, university entrance qualification or equivalent.
Count as equivalent to first college degree:
- University entrance qualification (e.g. Abitur, Fachhochschulreife or a comparable professional qualification, e.g. human resources specialist or a master craftsman’s examination), and additionally
- At least three years of professional experience in HR or management functions

1-jährige Berufserfahrung in HR- oder Führungsfunktionen
If you have an undergraduate degree, you must also demonstrate at least one year of work experience in an HR role or leadership position.
You do not have a first degree? In that case, you must have at least three years of professional experience in an HR function or management position after university entrance qualification and provide evidence of this.
Erfolgreiche Teilnahme an einem Auswahlgespräch
After a positive review of your written application documents, we will invite you to a selection interview. It is important for us to get to know each applicant personally and to learn more about their background and motivation. During the interview, we will also explain the special requirements of the program to you in detail.
The interview is conducted in the form of a structured interview.
If you do not have a first degree, in addition to the selection interview you must also successfully complete an aptitude test consisting of a written exam and the completion of a case study.
Nachweis über englische Sprachkenntnisse
You must prove your knowledge of the English language in the form of a TOEFL test (Test of English as a Foreign Language). Here you must have achieved 70 points (internet-based test).
A comparable language proficiency test can replace the TOEFL test. This proof can still be submitted in the 1st semester. The Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences offers a corresponding test for which a fee is charged.

Stage 1: Application documents

Your complete application materials will include:
- Application for admission
- Professional portfolio
- Certificate of university entrance qualification or equivalent (Abitur, Fachhochschulreife or comparable professional qualification, e.g. a master craftsman’s examination)
- University degree certificate and/or diploma (officially certified)
- Job references
- Letter of motivation
- Proof of English language skills
- Letter of recommendation (optional)
Stage 2: Review of your application documents
You will receive a confirmation of receipt from us promptly after we have received your application documents. In the first step, we check the documents for completeness and fulfillment of the formal admission requirements.
Stage 3: Selection interview
If you meet the formal requirements after reviewing the documents, we will invite you to the selection interview. We would like to get to know you, your individual background as well as your motivation for studying. You can learn more about the special requirements of the MBA program from us.
We conduct the selection interview in the form of a structured interview. A maximum of 15 points will be awarded. You must score at least eight points.
Stage 4: The decision for a study place
The Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences decides on the allocation of study places. We will inform you promptly if you are admitted to the MBA Human Resources Management.
